🧫🔬 Medical Detectives in Action! 🔬🧫
Our Medical Detectives classes are stepping into the role of scientists as they conduct experiments to better understand bacteria and antibiotics. Students planted bacteria cultures and introduced different antibiotics to observe which ones were most effective in stopping bacterial growth. Through hands-on investigation, they’re learning how doctors determine the right treatments and why choosing the correct antibiotic matters. Science is coming to life right before their eyes! 🧪✨ #loveservecare #HandsOnLearning

Mrs. Williams ELA classes teamed up with the U of A Cooperative Extension Service to study the hatching process for chickens. 🐓 Mrs. Autry and Mrs. Hugen shared some great information on chicken production in Arkansas. Students were able to see various eggs and place them in the incubator. Students discussed homozygous and heterozygous offspring. Mrs. Williams and her students will collect data for the next 21 days and document the progress leading up to the hatch date.

🦉🔬 Science got a little wild in Mrs. Pinion’s 8th grade Science classes today!
Students dug into owl pellets to learn about comparative anatomy. Today, they are sorting and identifying tiny bones. Tomorrow, they will figure out what the owl had eaten and compared skeletal structures using bone charts. #loveservecare4others💙💜

Dear MJHS Families,
Today, we briefly implemented a Hold as a precaution due to a student medical situation. During a Hold, students and staff remain in their current locations while classroom instruction continues, allowing emergency responders to address the situation safely.
The situation was handled promptly, the Hold has been lifted, and the school day resumed as normal.
Thank you for your continued trust and support. Please contact the school office with any questions.
