Morrilton Junior High School (MJHS) has been awarded $16,761.01 through the Arkansas School Recognition Program for ranking in the Top 6–10% statewide in academic growth. The program—established under the ADE Rules Governing the Public School Rating System on Annual School Performance Reports and the School Recognition Program and authorized by Ark. Code Ann. § 6-15-2107—provides financial awards to public schools demonstrating high student performance and high student academic growth. Schools in the Top 6–10% for performance or growth are eligible for awards of up to $50 per enrolled student.
“This recognition is a reflection of focused teaching and relentless effort from our students, staff, and families,” said Shawn Halbrook, Superintendent of Schools. “At SCCSD, we are committed to maximizing the safety, learning, and achievement of every scholar. Morrilton Junior High’s growth affirms that our daily work—rooted in the values to love, serve, and care—moves the needle for kids. I’m proud of Principal Robert Hogan, the MJHS team, and our students for proving that intentional practice and high expectations produce real results.”
“This award belongs to our students and teachers,” said Robert Hogan, Principal of Morrilton Junior High School. “We’ve prioritized data-informed instruction, targeted interventions, and consistent classroom routines. Our students rose to the challenge, and our teachers never stopped coaching them forward. We’re grateful for this recognition and will work to build on this momentum.”
